Site Transfer policy
This policy outlines Without Code’s requirements for transferring websites between accounts, including standard transfers and situations where the current account holder is unable to provide authorization.
Authorization Requirements
In most cases, transferring a website from one Without Code account to another requires authorization from the current Without Code account holder.
If the account holder is deceased, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to provide authorization, Without Code may require additional documentation before a transfer can be completed.
Standard Site Transfers
When the current account holder is available, Without Code must receive their authorization before transferring a site to another account.
If a transfer is requested by someone other than the account holder, Without Code may contact the account holder using the contact information associated with their Without Code account to request authorization.
Once authorization is received, the site can be transferred to the recipient’s Without Code account.
When the Account Holder Cannot Provide Authorization
If the account holder is unable to provide authorization, Without Code may accept documentation showing that another person has legal authority to act on their behalf.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Power of attorney
- Guardianship or conservatorship documentation
- Executor or estate administrator documentation
- Documentation establishing authority to act for a business or organization that holds the Without Code account
- Other appropriate legal documentation establishing authority to act for the account holder
Without Code may request additional information when necessary to verify the request.
Client Relationships and Site Ownership
Being the client of a Without Code customer does not by itself authorize a site transfer.
Payment for website design, hosting, maintenance, or other services, ownership or control of the website’s domain name, or management of the business represented by the website does not establish authority over the Without Code account or authorize Without Code to transfer the site.
Without Code does not determine or resolve ownership disputes between its customers and their clients.
Disputed or Unverified Requests
If authorization cannot be obtained, legal authority cannot be established, or multiple parties dispute control of a site, Without Code will not transfer the site until appropriate authorization or documentation is provided.
Account Privacy
A site transfer applies only to the specific website being transferred. It does not provide access to the original account holder’s Without Code account, billing information, other websites, or other account data.
Requesting Assistance
If the account holder is unable to authorize a transfer, please contact Without Code Support with the website address and a brief explanation of the circumstances. Our team will let you know what information or documentation is required.
