Ecommerce: Using MailChimp

You can use MailChimp to send personalized marketing emails and newsletters to customers. The store will sync with the following via MailChimp: customers, products, orders, discount coupons, and abandoned carts. MailChimp also offers marketing tools such as social media ads. To see all of the options available with MailChimp visit your store, select “Marketing” and once you connect MailChimp, click “Newsletters.”

Connecting MailChimp

To connect MailChimp to your store:

  1. Select the Ecommerce tab from the left menu and open your store.
  2. Select “Marketing” and “Newsletters.”
  3. Connect your MailChimp account or if you don’t have an account, sign up for free.
  4. Follow the provided steps:
    1. Audience: Choose your audience; your store customers will automatically be connected and those who did not opt in will transfer as ‘unsubscribed,’ which means you’ll only be able to send specific kinds of emails (e.g. transactional emails).
    2. Export store data (optional): You can choose to export all store data to MailChimp, which provides MailChimp all information that you have on customers and may help you personalize communications.
    3. Connect site (optional): You can choose to connect your site to MailChimp, which allows you to add a pop-up form to your website. This form prompts customers to sign-up for your newsletter.

Use your MailChimp account to create campaigns, ads, social posts and to create the pop-up form if desired.
