Button Widget

Add a button to your site to promote an action (e.g. Contact Us), bring visitors to another page/section, or open a popup.

Note: we suggest creating global styling for your buttons in the Theme section of your site. By using globally styled buttons, any button you add will have styling already applied. Global styling can be set at Theme > Buttons. You may set styling for two unique button styles: Primary and Secondary. Styling applied to individual buttons throughout the site will override global styling for that button instance.

To add a button, open the Widgets tab and search for the Button widget.

Drag this widget into the desired location of your editor and it will open the content and design options. Using the content tab you can set the button destination: page, URL, popup, anchor, blog post, store link, email address, click to call, or file for download.

Linking Buttons

The button widget has options for linking the button to various types of links and content.

  • Existing Page
  • Website URL
  • Popup
  • Anchor
  • Email Address
  • Click to Call
  • File for download

The Website URL option has multiple rules that can be applied to the URL link:

Open in a new window: Forces the link to be opened in a new window when the button is clicked.

Set as no follow: Stops search engines from associating your site with the page being linked, or crawl the linked page from your site.

Set as sponsored: Tells search engines that this link is part of an advertisement or paid placement on the site.

Set as User Generated Content (UGC): Tells search engines that the link is created by a user and that it isn't necessarily reliable, such as a link posted by someone in a comment.

STYLING BUTTONS

Using the design tab you can style your button. Primary and Secondary buttons allow you to maintain two different button styles across your site. While it is generally suggested that you create global button styles in Theme > Buttons, you may style buttons individually using the design tab for any button on the site. Select between Primary and Secondary, and apply styling as desired. You may make adjustments such as button layout, button style and text, background color and spacing.

Floating Buttons

You may also add buttons to your site that float on the page, in a selected page position such as bottom right or top left. These types of buttons are sometimes also referred to as “pinned” buttons.

To create a floating button, place the Button widget on your page. Where you place it on the page is not important, as the float position will be determined by the widget options, and not the page placement in the editor.

Enable “Floating”.

Select the position of the button. The button will be “pinned” in this position.

If you would like the button to be shown on this page only, enable the “Show on this page only” option. When this setting is disabled, the button will be shown on all pages on the site.

You may use different pinned buttons on other pages of the site.
